Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Mango Monkey. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Mango Monkey, an interactive story-based educational platform for children in Pre-K through Grade 6. Mango Monkey is accessible at mangomonkey.space (the "Platform"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, on behalf of the students in your care.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Mango Monkey. If you are a teacher using the Platform on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of the Service

Mango Monkey is an interactive educational platform that provides:

• Story-based learning games and interactive videos for children aged 4 to 12
• AI-generated educational content with branching scenarios built in Genially and H5P
• Curriculum-aligned assessments for grades Pre-K through Grade 6
• A teacher dashboard for tracking student progress, activity and assessment results
• Classroom management tools including student invitations and access control

The Platform is designed for use in educational settings and is intended to support classroom learning. Content is aligned with primary school English language arts curricula.

3. User Roles & Eligibility

Teachers

To register as a teacher on Mango Monkey you must be a qualified educator or school administrator aged 18 or older. By creating a teacher account you confirm that you are authorized to use the Platform on behalf of your students and that you will obtain all necessary parental consents required by applicable law.

Students

Students may only access Mango Monkey through a teacher-issued invitation. Students must not create accounts independently. By accepting a student invitation, the teacher confirms that they have the appropriate authority and consent to enrol the student on the Platform.

We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts independently. If you believe a child has created an account without proper authorization, please contact us immediately at admin@mangomonkey.space.

4. Account Responsibilities

All Users

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must not share your account with any other person
• You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account
• You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating or updating your account

Teachers

• You are responsible for all activity that occurs within your classroom on the Platform
• You are responsible for inviting only students for whom you have appropriate authorization
• You must not allow unauthorized individuals to access your teacher dashboard or student data
• You must promptly revoke access for any student who should no longer have access to the Platform

Students

• Students must not attempt to access other students' or teachers' accounts
• Students must use the Platform only for its intended educational purpose
• Students must not share their login credentials with anyone

5. Acceptable Use Policy

By using Mango Monkey you agree that you will NOT:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or any other user's account
• Upload, share or transmit any harmful, offensive, abusive or inappropriate content
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or its servers
• Use any automated tools, bots or scripts to access or interact with the Platform
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform
• Impersonate any other user, teacher, student or Mango Monkey staff member
• Use the Platform to send unsolicited messages or spam
• Attempt to circumvent any security or access control measures

Mango Monkey reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate any account that violates this Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Mango Monkey platform — including but not limited to educational games, interactive videos, AI-generated content, written materials, illustrations, logos, branding, and the platform design — is the intellectual property of Mango Monkey and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended educational purpose only. This licence does not include the right to:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute or republish any content from the Platform
• Modify, adapt or create derivative works based on Platform content
• Use any content for commercial purposes without our explicit written consent
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices

Content created by Genially and embedded within the Platform is subject to Genially's own intellectual property terms in addition to ours.

7. Teacher & School Responsibilities

Teachers and schools using Mango Monkey accept the following responsibilities:

• Obtaining all required parental or guardian consent before enrolling students on the Platform, in accordance with applicable laws including COPPA and Nigeria's NDPR
• Ensuring that student data is handled responsibly and in accordance with their school's data protection policies
• Informing parents and guardians about the Platform's use and the data collected
• Not enrolling students whose parents or guardians have withheld consent
• Promptly removing students from the Platform if consent is withdrawn
• Using the teacher dashboard and student data solely for legitimate educational purposes

Mango Monkey provides tools to help teachers manage their classrooms, but the responsibility for appropriate use of student data ultimately rests with the teacher and their institution.

8. Access Control & Suspension

Mango Monkey reserves the right to suspend, restrict or terminate access to the Platform at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Violation of our Acceptable Use Policy
• Suspected fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity
• Non-payment of any applicable fees (if introduced in future)
• Extended periods of inactivity

Teachers may also control student access at any time from their dashboard by enabling or disabling individual student accounts. This does not delete the student's data but suspends their ability to log in.

9. Third Party Services

Mango Monkey uses several trusted third-party services to deliver the Platform. Your use of the Platform may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — authentication and account management
• Neon (neon.tech) — database storage
• Vercel (vercel.com) — platform hosting and deployment
• Genially (genially.com) — interactive educational game hosting
• YouTube — video hosting (where applicable)

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Mango Monkey is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mango Monkey disclaims all warranties including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mango Monkey and its team members, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

12. Platform Availability & Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes to the Platform.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
