Students under the age of 13 must only access Mango Monkey through an account created by their teacher or school. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts independently.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our educational services. Here is what we collect and why:

From Teachers:

• Full name and email address (used to create and manage your account)
• Organization or school name (used to set up your classroom)
• Authentication data managed securely by Clerk

From Students:

• First name and email address (provided by the teacher during invitation)
• Game progress and activity data (scores, time spent, games played)
• Assessment results (quiz scores and answers submitted)
• Grade level (selected by the student upon login)

Automatically Collected:

• Browser type and device information
• IP address (used for security and fraud prevention only)
• Session and login activity

4. How We Use the Information

We use the information collected solely for the following educational purposes:

• To provide access to learning games, videos and assessments on the platform
• To track student progress and display it to their assigned teacher
• To allow teachers to manage their classroom and student access
• To send account invitations and notifications to teachers and students
• To improve the quality and performance of our platform
• To ensure the security and integrity of user accounts

We do NOT sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Mango Monkey is an ad-free educational platform.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar applicable laws. We take the following steps to protect children's privacy:

• Students under 13 may only join the platform through a teacher-issued invitation

• Authentication is handled by Clerk, a secure and industry-standard authentication provider
• Assessment and progress data is stored in an encrypted Neon Postgres database
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (secure encrypted connections)
• Access to student data is restricted to the student's assigned teacher only
• Platform administrators cannot access individual student assessment answers
• Our platform is hosted on Vercel, which maintains enterprise-grade security standards

7. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform. Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and security practices:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — for user authentication and account management
• Neon (neon.tech) — for secure database storage of assessment results
• Vercel (vercel.com) — for hosting and deploying the platform
• Genially (genially.com) — for hosting interactive educational games

We do not share personal data with any other third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

• Student assessment results are retained for the duration of the academic relationship with the teacher
• Teacher account data is retained for as long as the teacher maintains an active account
• When a teacher deactivates a student's access, their data is retained for record purposes but is no longer actively used
• You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• The right to request deletion of your personal data
• The right to withdraw consent at any time
• The right to data portability (receiving your data in a readable format)

• Teachers are responsible for ensuring that student accounts are used appropriately
• Teachers should not share student login credentials with unauthorized individuals

By using the teacher account, educators agree to handle student data responsibly and in accordance with their school's data protection policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes we will:

• Update the effective date at the top of this document
• Notify teachers via email where appropriate
